Who we are
Sprint Squad is made and run by Taki Consulting Limited, a New Zealand company (company number 9251163, NZBN 9429052133374) based in Christchurch. Its director is Vern Holden, who wrote the programme and coaches the squad. "We" and "Taki" in these terms mean Taki Consulting Limited. Questions: vern@takiconsulting.nz.
Who can join
- 18 and overAdults can join through open sign-up on the front page.
- Under 18Only through a coach's invite, with a parent or guardian agreeing. How that works is on the parents page.
- Your age has to be trueThe app sets the training, and what is safe, by your age. Open sign-up refuses anyone under 18, and a code made with a false age can be taken out of the squad.
Training safely
- It is hard trainingSprinting, jumping and explosive lifting load the heart, muscles, tendons and joints. Answer the health check honestly, and see a doctor before you start if any question in it is a yes.
- It is coaching, not medical adviceThe programme is written by a coach and checked against published research. It is not written by a doctor or physiotherapist and does not replace one. If you are hurt, unwell or unsure, stop and get it checked.
- Stop when something is wrongPain, dizziness, chest pain or a joint that does not feel right means stop that session. The app will cut or swap work when you tell it something hurts; use it.
- Weights are estimatesThe app works out weights from what you tell it. You choose what goes on the bar. Use a spotter on bench and heavy lifts, warm up as the app shows, and lift only what you can control.
- Where you train is your callThe gym, track and equipment you use, and whether they are safe, are your responsibility.
Who owns what
- The app and the programme belong to TakiThe app, its code and design, the programme, every exercise description, how-to, video and picture in it are owned by Taki Consulting Limited, or used by it under licence.
- You get a licence to use themA personal licence to use the app and follow the programme for your own training while you are a member. It cannot be passed on to anyone else.
- Please do notCopy, share, sell, republish or build another product from the programme or the app, or share your squad code. Sharing a picture or clip of your own session from the app is fine; that is what the share button is for.
- Your training data is yoursWhat you log belongs to you. You can export it from Profile at any time.
Free while in development
Sprint Squad is free while it is being built. We may change, add to, pause or stop it, or any part of it, at any time. If we ever start charging, we will tell you first, and nothing is charged unless you choose to pay.
Your code and PIN
Your squad code and PIN are how the app knows it is you. One person per code. Keep the code to yourself and choose a PIN nobody can guess. You can stop using Sprint Squad whenever you like. We can take a code out of the squad if it is misused, shared, made with a false age, or used in a way that breaks these terms.
